The Love Goddess Gives Advice to Dating Parents

 

NORWALK (May 25, 2010)—Keeping your children and family healthy—in body, mind and spirit—using holistic and environmentally conscious practices, is the focus of Try Norwalk Naturally’s next community event on Wednesday, June 2, from 6 – 9 p.m., at Fat Cat Joe, 3 Wall St., Norwalk. The event is hosted by TNN in association with Norwalk, Fairfield, Stamford, Bridgeport, Ridgefield and Westchester Green Drinks, and Fat Cat Pie Company.

 

Four featured speakers will offer expert advice to parents on a wide range of subjects—from dating again to keeping your kid’s feet happy with reflexology.

 

* Dalma Heyn, best-selling author seen on Oprah! and Larry King Live talking about love and relationships, incarnates in Norwalk this evening as The Love Goddess, giving parents advice on “Dating Again, When Your Kids Hate the Man

You Love (or When His Kids Hate You).” Her talk begins at 7 p.m.

 

Jill Marie Kleiber, L.Ac., specializing in women’s health, particularly fertiltity, pregnancy, menopause and beauty, will give an “Intro to Acupuncture: Find out How it Works and Why” with a live demonstration, at 6:30 p.m.

 

Archana Kulkarni holds a doctorate in Ayurvedic medicine from Benaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, and has been practicing for 10 years. Her talk on “The Secrets of Family Health with Ayurveda” will focus on diet and lifestyle tips from India’s preventative health system. Starts at 8 p.m.

 

Nanette Ginise, LMT, is a teacher and longtime practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupressure and Reflexology. Her talk, “Happy Feet: Introducing Children to Reflexology,” will start at 8:30 p.m.

 

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions of holistic practitioners from the greater Norwalk area, as well as a chance to experience some of their services in hands-on demonstrations. The Aquarium, Norwalk’s environmental activist resource center, will host at its table Stefanie Iris Weiss, author of Eco-Sex: Go Green Between the Sheets and Make Your Love Life Sustainable, who will be signing copies of her new book.

 

Galaxy Cookies will bake a batch of organic cookies, with organic ingredients and non-alcoholic refreshments donated by Fat Cat Pie Company. Children are welcome with their parents.
